The familiar sight of red and white flags can be seen during this time of the year… Advertisements with “57” and “$” start to pop up. Singapore’s 57th birthday National Day is coming soon. In our 3rd year of the pandemic, the 2022 NDP theme is “Stronger Together, Majulah!” as the nation emerges from Covid-19.
This national day, expect an exciting line-up of events as the National Day Parade is coming to us in full swing. For the true Singaporean experience, celebrate National Day with these activities over the weekend.
1. Watch the fireworks
Fireworks... the number one activity every National Day. In the weeks leading up to National Day, crowds gather at Marina Barrage and Marina Bay Sands as everyone fights to get the closest view of the fireworks.
On 9th August this year, enjoy the fireworks from your neighbourhood in the heartlands. In addition to fireworks, there will be carnivals organised, just like pre-Covid times. The fan-favourite Red Lions will also be landing at Bishan and Ghim Moh, sure to excite the little ones.
2. Shop the National Day deals
With all the exciting deals offered by F&B and retail stores, experience the true Singaporean kiasu spirit and snag up all these deals.
